Warden Message

The Royal Villas Hotel

The U.S. Embassy Warden message of October 31, 2008 informed American citizens that the embassy had restricted U.S. Government employees from staying at The Royal Villas Hotel in Ezulwini Valley. Effective May 4, 2009, the U.S. Embassy in Mbabane no longer restricts employees from staying at The Royal Villas Hotel.  The embassy security office has lifted the restriction based on significant security improvements.

Americans living or traveling in Swaziland are encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s travel registration web site https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/ so that they can obtain updated information on travel and security within Swaziland.  Americans without Internet access may register directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.  By registering, American citizens make it easier for the embassy or consulate to contact them in case of emergency.  The U.S. Embassy is located in the Central Bank Building on Mahlokohla Street in the capital city of Mbabane.  The mailing address is Box 199, Mbabane, Swaziland.  The telephone number is (268) 404-6441/5; fax (268) 404-5959. Email the consular section at mbaconsular@state.gov.  For after-hours emergencies involving American citizens, please dial 268-602-8414.
