American Citizen Services
The Embassy offers services to crime victims and assistance in death and arrest cases. The American Citizen Services (ACS) unit also assists American citizens in emergencies, and also provides routine services such as:
processing passport applications
issuing Reports of Birth Abroad to U.S. citizen children born in Swaziland
providing overseas voting assistance
giving information on Social Security and Veterans' benefits
distributing income tax forms, notarizing documents
registering Americans living or traveling in Swaziland.
American Citizen Registration
If you are visiting or residing in Swaziland, please register your presence by using the link provided or register in person at the Embassy. Registration makes your presence and whereabouts known, in case it is necessary for a consular officer to contact you in an emergency. During a disaster overseas, American consular officers can assist in evacuation were that to become necessary.
The data you provide is completely secure, and is held behind DOS firewalls, accessed only by cleared personnel in Embassies, Consulates, and DOS, and releasable only under provisions of the Privacy Act.
Adoption Information
The Embassy does not get involved in adoptions of private citizens. The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare regulates adoptions in Swaziland and has provided the Adoption Fact Sheet .
The U. S Embassy in Mbabane does not process immigrant visas. Please visit United States Diplomatic Mission to South Africa website (http://southafrica.usembassy.gov/) for information on how to your bring your adopted child to the United States or you can direct queries to the Johannesburg Consulate at: consularjohannesburg@state.gov. Office Hours
The ACS unit is open to the public on Monday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., except for emergency services. We are closed to the public on both Swazi and U.S. holidays.
